Jimmy Hughes
Commissioner
On July 15, 2004, I was appointed to the Lynn Haven City Commission to fill the unexpired term of Harold Haynes. Prior to my appointment, I served on the City of Lynn Haven Planning Commission. In April, 2005, I ran unopposed for my commission seat. I consider it an honor and a privilege to serve the residents of Lynn Haven as a city commissioner and I pledge that I will endeavor to represent all the citizens of our city with fairness and concern.
I have lived in Bay County for almost all of my life. I graduated from Bay High in 1958 and I earned degrees from Chipola Jr. College, Troy State University, and Auburn University. I retired from Bay District Schools in July, 2003 after a total of 41 years, serving 37 of those years as a school administrator. The last 11 years of my career I served as the Deputy Superintendent of Schools.
I am ready to use my experience, time and energy toward making Lynn Haven the very best place to live and work.
