LYNN HAVEN CANVASSING BOARD
APRIL 17, 2006 - 8:30 A.M.

Chairman Hughes reconvened the Canvassing Board at 8:30 a.m. to begin the tabulation of the absentee ballots at the Elections Center, 205 Mosley Drive, Lynn Haven. The meeting was open to the public.

Mark Andersen, Bay County Supervisor of Elections, called the meeting to order for each canvassing board and explained the absentee ballot procedure. There were 87 absentee ballots returned as of April 17, 2006. Signatures had already been verified by the staff at the Election Center.

Mr. Larry Roxby, Supervisor of Elections Office, conducted the L&A testing of the machines to be used for counting ballots today.

The 87 ballots were opened by Mark Andersen, Supervisor of Elections. The ballots were separated in the secrecy sleeves from the return mail envelope by the Canvassing Board. Ballots were separated from the secrecy envelope. Secrecy envelopes were fanned to make sure no ballots were left inside. Ballots were shuffled. Ballots were placed through the tabulator. The total counted ballots were 87.

Mr. Larry Roxby, SOE Office, zeroed the machine and the Canvassing Board witnessed and signed the tape. Orange seals were placed on the tabulator - Seal #'s: 0034175/0034172.

There was one cancelled ballot returned by the voter because she came into the Elections Center and early voted. There were 32 ballots returned undeliverable which were automatically cancelled.

The meeting was recessed at 9:28 a.m.

APRIL 18, 2006 - 6:00 P.M.

Chairman Hughes reconvened the Canvassing Board at 6:00 p.m. to begin the tabulation of the absentee ballots at the Elections Center, 205 Mosley Drive, Lynn Haven. The meeting was open to the public.

Mark Andersen, Bay County Supervisor of Elections, called the meeting to order. Forty additional absentee ballots were received by the Bay County Supervisor of Elections since recessing the April 17, 2006 meeting. The same procedure was followed to count the absentee ballots as was used on April 17, 2006.

Meeting recessed and reopened at 6:43 p.m.

Election Office begins process to collect early voting machine information.

At 7:00 p.m. Mark Andersen announced that the polls were now closed for voting. No additional absentee ballots would be accepted. Mr. Andersen obtained the official totals from the tabulator which was located at the Elections Center.

The result of the Election is as follows:

For Mayor:			
	Walter T. Kelley received	1,099 votes.
	Richard Walker received	626 votes.

For Commission Seat #1:	
	Frances Wittkopf received	1,150 votes.
	Anna Vera Yingling received	547 votes.
For Commission Seat #2:	
	Antonius G. Barnes received	1,058 votes.
	James Dean received		656 votes.
