Code Enforcement - Overgrown Yards

Grass and weeds on developed lots in Lynn Haven must be kept no higher than 12 inches tall.  Excessive dead leaves and plant matter must be kept raked up and placed by the street for City pick up.  The City will automatically pick up yard waste.


Sec. 26-32. Prohibited conditions.

 

The following conditions are prohibited in the city and are declared nuisances:

(2)     Any excessive accumulation of untended growth of weeds, undergrowth or other dead or living plant life upon a lot, tract or parcel of land, improved within the city to the extent and in the manner that such lot, tract or parcel of land shall become infested or inhabited with rodents, vermin or snakes, or may become a breeding place of mosquitoes, or threaten or endanger the public health and welfare, or may reasonably cause disease, or adversely affect and impair the economic welfare of the adjacent property.

 

Sec. 26-33. Additional prohibited conditions.

 

The following conditions are prohibited on improved property and are declared nuisances:

(2)  Any underbrush which exceeds one foot in height.

(4)  Any weeds which exceed one foot in height.
