City Golf Cart Information
Golf Cart Road List Expansion
The operation of golf carts has now been expanded to include any City street with a posted speed limit of 25 miles per hour or lower.
As per approved City Commission Ordinance Sec. 66-6, even on approved streets, golf carts and their operators must meet certain requirements. To operate a golf cart you must have a valid driver’s license or be 14 years of age and accompanied by someone with a valid driver’s license. When operated during the daylight hours (between sunrise and sunset), golf carts must be equipped with:
- Efficient braking system
- Rearview mirror
- Red reflectorized warning devices on both the front and rear
- Reliable steering apparatus
- Safe tires
Designated Golf Cart Crossings
- Hwy 77 and 9th Street
- Hwy 389 (12th St.) and Illinois Ave.
- Hwy 389 (12th St.) and Iowa Ave.
For nighttime use (after sunset or before sunrise), golf carts must also be equipped with integrated headlights, brake lights, turn signals and a windshield. These rules and other relevant traffic regulations will be enforced similar to any other motor vehicle.
Over the next two months, appropriate signage will be placed throughout the City. In addition, we will be working with the State and the County for approval and subsequent setup of strategic crossings for non-City owned roads.
Should you have any questions regarding this please contact Public Works at 850-265-5989. Questions regarding enforcement should be directed to the Lynn Haven Police Department at 850-265-4111.
