Responsibilities
The Board of Construction (BOC) consists of five members who are appointed by the City Commission. Each Board member sits for a three-year term. The Board of Construction powers and duties include the following:
o Prescribe forms for complaints for building code violations and notice of appeal.
o Give notice of hearing and conduct hearings upon charges of building code violations.
o Suspend or revoke building permits or the ability to obtain building permits.
o Hear the appeal of any persons who may be aggrieved by any ruling or order by the building official or inspector.
